Okay yes, so the blog post is late again. However, once more I have good reasons.
- I learned how to fly (belated anniversary present from Jesse… who has great ideas!)
- I saw Jesse
- I ate lots of food
- I got sick
- I figured out how to make ginger shots
- But I still need a nap.
We also saw fireworks, had dinner with Jesse’s family (twice), met up with previous life boat people (who are still awesome), ate home grown strawberries and farm fresh eggs, and managed to get a little sleep. All in all, I got to be together with a lot of people I care about, ironically on Independence Day. Perhaps being independent is just about having the choice of who you get to spend time with. And I’m lucky to have some really great choices.
Grocery shopping went well, for being outrageously tired while doing said shopping. The price includes my $25 bimonthly payment towards my full co-op membership fee.
The Recipe: Easy Lemon Ginger Shot with no juicer
This is like head exploding ginger hotness, so incredibly wonderful if you are congested or are having some digestive issues (or both!). If you can’t take the heat, try 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger, or dilute the shot.
2 tablespoons grated ginger
Juice of ½ lemon
6 tablespoons cold or hot water
1/2 tablespoon sugar
Blend in blender and strain into a glass. Drink carefully, and enjoy!
